He that spareth not his own son but delivereth him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32.

The things that are freely given to us are our inheritance as Children of the Most High God.

Isaiah 55:1-2 says ‘Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters. And you who have no money, come buy and eat, yes come buy and eat without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread and your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen diligently to me and eat what is good and let your soul delight in abundance.’

To inherit means to  receive a property or title as an heir, and Romans 8:17 says we are heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ. What does it mean to be an heir of God and joint-heir with Christ? In order to answer this question, let’s take a look at the following scriptures:

Psalms 24:1 says ‘The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.’

Psalms 114:24.
‘O Lord, how manifold are thy works, in wisdom thou has made them all, the earth is full of thy riches’ (Emphasis added)

Haggai 2:8. ‘The Silver and gold belong to God’

Romans 10:12
‘For there is no difference between Jew and Greek for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.’

1 Corinthians 3:21. ‘All things are yours’

2 Peter 1:3
‘According to His divine power hath given us all things that pertain unto life and godliness through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue’ (Emphasis added)

1 Timothy 6:17
‘Charge them that are rich in this world that they be not high minded, nor trust in uncertain riches but in the living God who giveth us richly all things to enjoy (Emphasis added)

The things that are freely given to us are our inheritance as Children of God. Therefore we don’t need to struggle for them. You need not need to struggle to receive from God what He has already given you. There is however a struggle and we will touch on that shortly. It is not the will of God for a believer to struggle, God has called us to glory and virtue and not to struggle.

What we need to know is how to possess our inheritance. If you are still struggling order to possess any of the things that God has freely given to us, it is because you do not know what to do in order to enter into your inheritance as a child of God.

Because of our covenant relationship with God, everything that belongs to God also belongs to us, just as everything that we have should belong to God. Through Christ’s death and resurrection on our behalf, we have been redeemed from the curse of the law so that the blessing of Abraham will come upon us.

In Deuteronomy 6:10-11, God made it clear to Israel that they were going to inherit what others had laboured for.
The blessings of Abraham contained in Genesis 12:1-13 was a divine empowerment for Israelites to possess wealth without sweat.  The following scriptures allude to this fact. Deuteronomy 8:18, 6:10-11. Psalms 44:1-3, 105:43-44.

Galatians 3:13-14 tells us that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the gentiles (non-jewish people). This implies that without our redemption from the curse of the law, we would never be able to become partakers of Abraham’s blessings.
But praise be to God, we have been redeemed from the curse of the law and the Bible tells us in Psalms 107:2 ‘Let the redeemed of the Lord say so’.
If you don’t believe that you have already been redeemed from the curse and that you are already blessed with the blessings of Abraham, you will not be able to enter into your inheritance because the promise can only be received through faith.

You can never posses your inheritance as God’s child with a cursed mentality but only with an I am blessed mentality.

What then must we do in order to posses the things that are freely given to us?

1. SPIRITUAL MATURITY

Galatians 4:1-2.
Inheritance is usually kept for a child until he grows up to become a son (an adult). If we do not grow up in the things of the Spirit, we will delay the possession of our inheritance

Spiritual babies are inexperienced and are tossed to and fro by every new things they hear or that happens. Ephesians 4:14.

2. FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH

In Deuteronomy 2:24, God told the Children of Israel that He had already given them their inheritance, but that they would have to contend with the giants in the land. Deuteronomy 1:21 reveals that God had already dealt with the giants of the land spiritually, thereby giving Israel victory over them ahead of time.

In fighting the good fight of faith, you must be in constant warfare with anything that is contending with your victory!

The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:57 that God has given us victory through Christ. We fight not on the defeated side, but from the victorious side.
Luke 11:21-22 tells us that the strong man will hold unto his goods (satan is the god of this world) until He that is stronger than him overpowers him and takes over his goods. And 1 John 4:4 says that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.
Spiritual warfare requires that we meditate on God’s word; the Bible, pray with the word of God on our lips, confess the word of God into our situation always and resist doubt, fear and unbelief with the word of God. This is where the real struggle is, it is a spiritual struggle against anything that wants to steal our inheritance.

Hebrews 4:11
‘Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man after the same example of unbelief…’ To enter into the rest of faith requires spiritual labour. Feed your faith constantly with the word of God and your doubts will starve. It is only with faith in God’s word that the word will profit us. Hebrews 4:2.

3. BE GOD'S KINGDOM MINDED .

Matthew 6:33.
When we seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness, we are seeking the greater which also contains the lesser. God’s kingdom is the greatest kingdom of which every other kingdom including that of men and of darkness are all subject to, Luke 10:19.
If you are looking for money to advance God’s kingdom or agenda, money will be added unto you.

Be ever mindful of the things of God all the time! Be an advocate of the kingdom wherever you are. Represent God’s kingdom, let it be your identity. Let the advancement of God’s kingdom be your priority . be a witness for the kingdom.

4. RENEW YOUR MIND

Romans 12:2
The children of Israel could not enter their inheritance with the wrong mind set and neither can we. They also missed their inheritance because they said the wrong things which the Bible refers to as an “evil report” in Numbers 13:32. An evil report is a statement that contradicts God’s word. We likewise must avoid saying evil and negative things with our mouths.

In Numbers 13:30-33 and 14:24. Caleb was able to enter the promised land unlike others who died in the wilderness because his report tallied with God’s report, learn from this and be wise.

5. REVELATION

1 Corinthians 2:9-12
‘But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have it entered into the heart if man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him. But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit. Now we have received the spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.’
In Ephesians 1:16-18 we se Paul’s prayer to God for the believers, that God should grant them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God and the eyes of their understanding to be enlightened so that they may know what is the hope of their calling and the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.

 6. SERVICE

Hebrews 12:28.
Our service to God must be acceptable for us to qualify for the blessing of an acceptable service. We must work for God not as men pleasers.
King David echoes it in Psalms 19:14 ‘Let the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing in your eyes, O Lord, my strength and my salvation.’
1 Corinthians 15:58 ‘Therefore my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.’

Proverbs 28:20. ‘A faithful man will abound with blessings’ God is the biggest, the best and the highest paid employer.

Deuteronomy 28:47-48 ‘Because thou didst not serve the Lord thy God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things:
Thou shalt serve thy enemy, whom the Lord will send upon thee, in hunger, and thirst, and nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put an iron yoke upon thy neck, till he consume thee. ’ Douay-Rheims Bible version.

7. GIVING

The Jews are the richest race in the world today because they have a giving culture. The Bible emphasized the giving grace above others. 2 Corinthians 8:2 and 7. Giving is the only way we can keep receiving and bountiful giving is the only way we can have abundance. 2 Corinthians 6:6-

Conclusion.
Thanks be to God who has made us meet (qualified us) to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. Colossians 1:12.
Every believer has what it takes to enter into his or her inheritance. It is however up to you and I to fulfill the conditions of entering into our inheritance with God’s help. No matter the weakness, Philippians 4:13 tells us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Hallelujah!

Prayer and Action point.
Ask God for strength and help. Receive God’s strength by faith and go for what is rightfully your inheritance.
